Karen Wylie's six year old Cleveland Sport horse is making a promising start to her show jumping career with daughter Sarah as jockey. They are now competing on a regular basis and came second on their first BSJA outing to Foxes Riding Club near Ledsham on the Wirral on 13th September '09. A month later on 10th October the pair were at Aintree where the two photographs below show them in the BSJA Novice (black & white fence) and the One metre National Amateur Championship (orange fence).
Sarah is hoping to qualify by the end of the year for the Blue Chip Winter Championship Finals to be held at Hartpury on 14th to 18th April '10.
The big target is qualifying for the Scope BSJA Festival of Show Jumping Championships which is due to be held at the end of August into September 2010. She and Missy will need four Double Clears
in both British Novice and Discovery by April to qualify for Regional Finals where they will have an opportunity to qualify for Scope.
Sarah is also aiming for the Katherine James One Metre Novice at Scope. They will need to be placed in the top six at one of the qualifiers to be held next year. A further aim for 2010 will be to compete in their first Newcomers (1.10m).
This looks like another team to watch and one that should help to raise the profile of the Cleveland Bay, bringing the breed to the attention of a wider audience. We shall bring you all the latest news and pictures of Sarah and Wyevale Little Miss as soon as we receive them.
