1st Cholderton Fable Miss Helen Underwood

This was my second year at Heathfield Show and now after having been to a few Cleveland Bay Shows I realise how lucky we are to see such a good turnout of Clevelands at this local event! After all the worries of the weather likely to cancel the show and the lack of events having been held this year, the day came round and the weather was glorious. Its amazing how popular this event is with Clevelands. The attendance was excellent. The competition at Heathfield was really good with some very impressive horses, obviously loved by their owners judging by their condition. The class was judged by Mrs M Comber who along with her helpers got on with the job in hand without any fuss. I was so pleased with my lad Bobby's performance and we were both absolutely delighted to recieve a red rosette.
Rosemeadow Springtime on his way to 1st place.
Chertsey results and report - August 2012
The weather was very hot and close, not ideal weather for enthusiasm in exhibits (or handlers)! But the what the entries lacked in numbers was made up for in quality. There were super examples of young CB's of different types. The champion Rosemeadow Springtime ‘Bobby’ is a big straight mover with oodles of bone and a lovely future stallion.
In hand - 1 Rosemeadow Springtime – Michala Blackburn
2 Cholderton Janus- Jo Strange
Ridden 1 Cholderton Janus- Jo Strange
CB champion Rosemeadow Springtime

Whilst entries were low, there was another ‘partbred ‘ on the show ground in the Ridden Hunter class, bred by the Proctors out of their successful mare Sense of Freedom, but he is only 1/16th CB which didn’t allow him to be eligible for the classes. Written by Jo Strange.
3 Counties show - Malvern – 16th June 2013
Penrose Captain Jack has taken First Prize in the Ridden CB class (H100) of the Royal
Three Counties Show at Malvern. Jack is a 3/4 CB by Knaresborough Mastermind out
of Penrose Tinkerbell (CB x TB) bred and raised by David and Merle Phillips and Sian
Evans on the Gower. The five year old gelding was presented by event rider Vicki
Hancox of Eastbury Manor Equestrian for owner John Green. The red rosette was
especially pleasing as the Royal Three Counties was Jack's first major show.
Thame County Show – 13th July 2013
An extremely hot morning at around 27 degrees treated CB enthusiasts with a turnout of 7 horses for the in hand class. As usual sensible CB's giving a great display within the high pressure environment (Braying Donkeys and scurry carts surrounded us!). A fantastic turn out and a great fun day had by all, many thanks to Judge Miss E.Harbor for all her hard work in the rising heat of the day.

Club show at Folds Farm – 28th July 2013
The Folds show was rather quiet, but what we lacked
in quantity, we made up for in quality. Thanks to Cecilia
Deville-Lindsay for organising everything, Sarah and
Brian Pomfret, Jean Morgan and Carol Lines for helping,
all the other judges, stewards and secretaries and of
course, Sue Cutts for allowing us to use her land.
Congratulations to Tregoyd Given, who swept the board
as Overall Show Champion, In hand Champion, winner of
the youngstock class and winner of the Shaw and Co
turnout prize. T. Given is a three year old by Penrhyn PS
out of Tregoyd Vision. This was her first showing
experience and as Overall Champion, she automatically
qualifies for the Rare
Breeds Show at Bury later this year. A lovely young filly,
very well behaved - we wish her luck at Bury. Her half
sister, Tregoyd Spirit, was placed second in the youngstock class. - Thanks to Mark Webb for Photos
Cholderton Ida and her super filly foal, Densome Fairy Alice, won the mare and foal class and Ida was Reserve In hand Champion. Alice is by Penrhyn Executive and at four weeks old loved all the attention and was extremely cool, calm and collected throughout the show.
Folds Acacia won the Stallion and gelding in hand class and was second in the ridden.
Cholderton Ixion, having not shown all year, won the Ridden class in splendid form and was Overall Reserve Champion.
