30 YEAR OLD WINS RIDDEN CLEVELAND CLASS

In the Ridden Cleveland Bay class at the Suffolk Show on Thursday 2nd June, first place was awarded by judge Mr P. Crafts of Retford to Jo Davie's veteran part bred, Gorwell Dancemaster. Born in 1981 Dancemaster is by Signalman out of Guisness Rapunzel. He is a regular contender at the Suffolk and was also at the 2010 Equifest. Second place went to Lynn Dempsey's 15 year old mare, by Sutton Beau Geste out of Hollygrove Pippin. Third was Pamela Shipley's 6 year old gelding Barbarian Buccaneer, by Penryhn Dictator out of Willow Luceres. Buck took home the Sash for Best Turned Out, kindly donated by sponsors Shaw & Co, Solicitors. It was unfortunate that the Cleveland class coincided with the arrival of a helicopter into the adjacent ring as part of a military display. The sprightly Gorwell Dancemaster was also placed Reserve in the In hand Veteran Plus class for horses 25 years and over and then won the Ridden Veteran Plus class. Other results can be found on the Suffolk Show's website.
